Hello, thank you for visiting my website. I am BACP Accredited and a UKRCP Registered Independent Counsellor working in Crossroads Counselling, a professional confidential independent practice based in Farnborough , Hampshire which is near Aldershot and Camberley . I offer counselling and CBT for adults, young people and couples.
My formal study to become a counsellor began several years ago after a positive experience of personal counselling during a difficult life event. As an Accredited member of the BACP I work within BACP’s ethical framework, am insured and I have Enhanced CRB (Criminal Records Bureau) clearance. I have a BA (Hons) degree in Counselling and I have experience of counselling in the NHS (in Drug and Alcohol Services), Detox / Rehab, schools (local and in London area with The Place2Be), local government and charitable organisations. I am a qualified Supervisor with a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling Supervision and have experience in supervising both trainee and qualified counsellors, and you can find out more on the Supervision page.
Counselling can be helpful for a variety of issues.
Booking an appointment: Making contact is probably one of the hardest things to do. You may feel nervous and unsure about what to expect, and this is perfectly natural. Making an enquiry and meeting for an initial assessment does not mean you are tied into something. The Initial half hour appointment is free & is used to assess whether counselling is the right form of support for you. This will allow you an opportunity to experience how counselling will be before you make a decision to commit to the process or to me. Please call 01252 708624 or 07986 635381 to book your free initial appointment or you can email me at office@crossroads-counselling.co.uk
After that...If you decide that counselling is right for you, and you feel able to make a working therapeutic relationship with me, a verbal contract is mutually agreed to meet each week for a 50 minute session. Your aims for counselling are discussed and agreed. Progress is regularly reviewed, and you can stop counselling at any time if you decide it is not helpful for you.
What you can expect from me...I offer professional confidential counselling, with respect and non-judgemental support in a safe environment while you work through your thoughts and feelings to reach your own solutions. At times I may share theory if I feel it may be beneficial for understanding. Wanting to change is the easy step, being committed and having a willingness to work can be challenging, but the longer term benefits are worth it. You may find my Frequently Asked Questions page helpful to look at if you want to know more.
Previous clients have kindly provided a few lines of testimony about their experience and you might like to read these.
I trained as an integrative counsellor and therefore have various theoretical models to draw upon, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), to best suit an individual’s needs.
Fees: Each 50 minute session costs £40.00 payable on the day (concessions available, please enquire )
Access: Crossroads Counselling is located on the ground floor and is fully accessible by wheelchair. Free parking is available.
